INVITATION
We invite you to join us in the historic region of Çanakkale, near Lapseki, Turkey, for an international folklore festival and competition taking place from 06–10 August 2026.
This remarkable region is steeped in legend and history, most famously as the home of the ancient city of Troy. Surrounded by the stunning coastline of the Dardanelles and enriched by vibrant local traditions, Çanakkale offers a powerful and inspiring setting for cultural celebration, artistic exchange, and unforgettable performances.
FESTIVAL WELCOMES
The festival is open to folk dance groups of all ages.
GENERAL RULES
Performances should last between 5 and 10 minutes. Live music is preferred, while recorded music is also acceptable. Each group must prepare a minimum of two different performances. All groups are required to bring their national flag, and each participating country must bring three gifts for official exchanges. There is no limit to the number of participants per group.
The application must include a minimum of six digital group photos, a short group description, and performance videos or links with descriptions.
Groups are responsible for organizing their own transport to Çanakkale.
As confirmation of participation, a non-refundable deposit of 1,000 EUR per group must be paid in advance. The remaining balance is due 15 days before the festival or upon arrival at the accommodation. The final application and deposit deadline is 15 April 2026.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is offered in two categories. Participants may stay in selected 3-star hotels, including Temizay Hotel, Helen Hotel, or Yurdakul Hotel, at a cost of 190 EUR per person. Alternatively, accommodation is available in high-quality private hostels with two to four beds per room and private bathrooms, at a cost of 140 EUR per person.
Both accommodation options include breakfast and dinner.
INCLUDED BY ORGANIZERS
The package includes two meals daily (breakfast and dinner), an attendance certificate for each participant, and a gala party for all participating groups.
Final payment must be completed 15 days before the festival or upon arrival at the accommodation.

EXCURSIONS
Optional excursions will be available at an additional cost and may include sightseeing of the ancient city of Troy, a Çanakkale city tour, and a scenic boat trip along the Dardanelles Strait.
