XIII. INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION "GOLDEN STAR 2023"

The festival-competition will be held on one of the stages of the picturesque Black Sea coast of sunny Adjara.

During their stay in Georgia, the teams will have the opportunity not only to participate in the festival, but also to get acquainted with Georgian history and culture.

The program of the festival-competition consists of the Opening, competitive performances, round tables and master classes, the Award Ceremony and the Gala concert, excursion tours to get acquainted with the cultural and historical heritage of the country.

Мain goals and objectives:

  • Creating opportunities for creative communication for children, adolescents and youth;
  • Identification of new talents;
  • Development of culture and strengthening of interethnic cooperation;
  • Opportunity to get acquainted with samples of national culture and art;
  • Acquaintance with the best creative teams, establishing creative contacts between teams;
  • Exchange of experience of the participating countries of the festival in the artistic education of children, adolescents and youth;
  • Creation of conditions for support and development of children's and youth creativity

Conditions for participation in the festival-competition:

The competition is attended by children (from 5 to 16 years old), youth (from 16 to 25 years old) and adults (from 26 years old and above) groups and individual performers in the following categories: vocal, choreography, instrumental genre, original genre, theater creativity, artistic word, fashion theaters, fine arts, arts and crafts, photographic art.

I. Vocal (folk, pop, jazz, academic)

1. Solo;

2. Duets;

3. Ensembles (from 3 to 5 people);

4. Show groups;

5. Choirs.

Criteria for evaluation:  musicality, artistic interpretation of a musical work, purity of intonation and sound quality, beauty of timbre and power of voice, stage culture, complexity of the repertoire, compliance of the repertoire with the performance capabilities and age category of the performer, performing skills.

The duration of the work is not more than 4 minutes.

 

II. Choreography (folk, pop, classical, ballroom dance, modern, jazz, street dance, hip-hop, break dance, disco, belly dance , etc.)

1. Solo;

2. Duets;

3. Small forms (from 3 to 5 people);;

4. Ensembles.

Criteria for evaluation: performance skills, performance technique, compositional construction of the performance, correspondence of the repertoire to the age characteristics of the performers, stage performance (plasticity, costume, props, performance culture), selection and matching of musical and choreographic material, artistry, disclosure of the artistic image.

The duration of the work is not more than 5 minutes.

 

III. Instrumental genre (folk, classical, pop, jazz)

1. Solo;

2. Duets;

3. Small forms (from 3 to 5 people);

4. Ensembles;

5. Orchestras.

Evaluation criteria:  purity of performance, instrumental technique, mastery of sound dynamics, complexity of the performed work, creative individuality, artistic value of the repertoire, originality, artistry.

Duration  works no more than 4 minutes.

 

IV. Original genre (circus numbers, acrobatics, clowning, gymnastics, juggling, show with an object, illusion, etc.)

1. Solo;

2. Duets;

3. Small forms (from 3 to 5 people);

4. Team;

Evaluation criteria: performance skills, technicality, compositional construction of the performance, correspondence of the repertoire to the age characteristics of the performers, stage performance (plasticity, costume, props, performance culture), artistry, disclosure of the artistic image, entertainment, coordination of movements and physical training, design, originality. The duration of the work is not more than 5 minutes.

V. Theatrical creativity (dramatic performance, puppet theater, musical, plastic and pantomime, street theater, parody theater, shadow theater, solo performance, etc.)

Evaluation criteria: disclosure and brightness of artistic images, performance level, stage performance (plasticity, costume, performance culture), repertoire compliance with the age characteristics of the performers, artistic design of the performance, props, actors' diction.

The duration of the work is not more than 10 minutes.

 

VI. Artistic word (poetry, prose, fable)

Evaluation criteria: revealing the creative individuality of the contestant, artistry, charm, emotional impact on the listener, completeness of the theme of the work, literacy of speech.

The duration of the work is not more than 4 minutes.

VII. Fashion theaters (retro collection, ethno collection, future collection, modern collection, know-how collection, etc.)

Evaluation criteria: originality of the theme, consistency in style (costume, hairstyle, choreography, musical accompaniment), additions and accessories, artistic performance.

The duration of the work is not more than 10 minutes.

 

VIII. Visual arts (painting, graphics, design)

Evaluation criteria: age appropriateness, mastery of performance, disclosure of the theme, color solution, coloring, composition, expressiveness, emotionality, originality.

 

Participants submit 3 works.

IX. Arts and crafts ( working with wood (carving, painting, birch bark, marquetry), working with clay (ceramics, sculpture of small forms), weaving (tapestry, lace, embroidery, patchwork) , working with metal (chasing, jewelry), natural materials (straw, vine, reed, other natural materials)

Evaluation criteria: creativity in the performance of work, artistic taste, originality, knowledge and preservation of national traditions, skillful combination of traditions and innovation in the manufacture of work imagination in the use of materials for manufactured products, possession of the chosen technique, aesthetic appearance and design of the work, age appropriateness, application new technologies and materials, non-traditional use of known materials.

Participants submit 3 works.

X. Photo art

Evaluation criteria: subject of the photo, originality, quality of the photo, informative content.

Participants submit 3 works.

Age categories:

1) up to 6 years

2) 7 - 9 years

3) 10 - 12 years

4) 13 - 15 years

5) 16 - 19 years

6) 20 - 25 years

7) from 26 years

8) mixed age category.

Competitive requirements:

  • Each team must submit 2 numbers
  • Solo, duet, small forms - 1 number
  • The carriers of phonograms are CD, FLASH - carrier or mini disc with high sound quality.
  • Each sound recording must be on a separate medium indicating the name of the work, the name of the ensemble or the name of the performer, as well as the duration of the sound of this work.
  • Vocalists are not allowed to perform under the "+" phonogram.
  • To participate in the gala concert, ensembles and solo performers are selected by decision of the jury and the organizing committee.

For nominations "Fine art", "Decorative and applied creativity” and “Photo art” festival – the competition will be held in the form of an exhibition of works.
Each participant must submit 3 works to the competition.
Requirements for the design of works:
for the nomination "Fine Arts", a sign must be pasted on the work, indicating: city, institution, surname, name of the child, age, name of the work, leader;
for the nomination "Decorative and applied art", a sign should be placed near the work, indicating: city, institution, surname, name of the child, age, name of the work, supervisor;
for the nomination "Photography" on the reverse side of the photo must be indicated: institution, surname, name of the child, name of the work, age, leader

Awarding of the participants:

To evaluate the performances of the participants, an international jury of prominent figures of culture and art from the countries of near and far abroad is invited.

According to the results competition, a gala concert will be held and awarding the participants of the solemn festival - competition.

All participants will receive commemorative diplomas, medals and cups with the symbols of the festival from the "ARTFEST ASSOCIATION" company . Evaluation of performances takes place according to nominations, taking into account age categories.

The jury awards:

Grand Prix, Laureate I, Laureate II, Laureate III degree, Diploma I, Diploma II, Diploma III degree, as well as special prizes. By decision of the jury, the Grand Prix and other prizes may not be awarded.

The program of the Gala Concert is determined by the organizational committee of the festival-competition based on the decision of the jury. The jury's decision is final and cannot be changed. The winners - collectives or solo performers will be awarded with invitations on special conditions from the company "ART - FEST ASSOCIATION" and jury members to take part in festivals and competitions held both in Georgia and abroad, organized by our partners.

Program:

Day 1 - Arrival of participants and guests of the festival, transfer from Batumi airport, registration, accommodation of participants and guests of the festival in a hotel in one of the resorts of Adjara (Batumi, Kobuleti, Gonio, Kvariati, Shekvetili, Ureki) after 14.00. Dinner. Free time. An evening of acquaintances , a meeting with leaders. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 -  Breakfast. Rest on the sea . Dinner. Excursion in Batumi. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 -  Breakfast. Rehearsal on stage. Dinner. Opening of the festival - competition and competition program. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 -  Breakfast. Rest on the sea . Dinner. Gala - concert and solemn rewarding of participants. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 -  Breakfast. Free time. Dinner. Creative meetings with Georgian groups, exchange of experience . Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 -  Breakfast. Free time. (It is possible to organize excursions for an additional fee). Dinner. Rest on the sea . Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 -  Breakfast. Rest on the sea. Dinner. Free time. (It is possible to organize excursions for an additional fee). Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 - Breakfast. 12.00 - check out of the hotel, transfer to Batumi airport

  • 225 Euro per person (with 3-4 local accommodation);
  • 275 Euro per person (with 2-bed accommodation);
  • 375 Euro per person (with 1 local accommodation);

  • 260 Euro per person (with 3-4 local accommodation);
  • 310 Euro per person (with 2-bed accommodation);
  • 410 Euro per person (with 1 local accommodation);

HOTEL 4* 

  • 295 Euro per person (with 3-4 local accommodation);
  • 345 Euro per person (with 2-bed accommodation);
  • 445 Euro per person (with 1 local accommodation);

For 20 participants - 1 leader is free.

  • 3 meals a day during the entire stay in Georgia (starts with lunch on the day of the star and ends with breakfast on the day of departure);

Participation fee does not include:

  • Festival gathering for soloists, duets and small forms, as well as participation in an additional nomination:
    • soloists pay extra 30 Euro,
    • duets pay extra 40 Euro per duet,
    • small forms 3-5 people pay extra 50 Euro per group,
    • for participation in an additional nomination - additional payment of 15 Euro /person;
  • Individual transfer or transfer from other airports in Georgia (We can also provide transfers from railway stations and bus stations). Please check the price of transfers with our managers);
  • Excursions (We will organize an excellent excursion program for you! For detailed information on excursion programs, you can check with our managers);
  • Medical insurance;
