With pleasure we INVITE you (Folk ensembles, Choral groups, Ballroom dance teams, art schools, Music theatre, modern dance teams, orchestras and majorette teams), (children and youth groups) to participate on XI COSTA BRAVA INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL from 09 - 14 October
This International Festival, organised by Malgrat Municipality is open for Folk Groups, Flag-waving Groups and Bagpipe Bands. During this International Festival there will be both parades and performances. The performances will be in parks and squares of Malgrat de Mar. This Festival will not be competitive.
Malgrat de Mar enjoys mild weather almost all year round. More than 4.5 km of golden beaches are waiting for you! During your stay in the wonderful Costa Brava, you will also have the opportunity to experience another type of culture. You will enjoy a friendly relaxing environment full of charm and history.
The Group will be accomodated in a 4 star Hotel (on full board basis, breakfast, lunch and dinner at buffet), situated in the touristic area of
Malgrat de Mar.The artistic programme consists of outdoor parades and standing performances. During the parades, the groups will perform with their
own instruments. During the standstill performances, which will be held in the main squares, the Organisation will provide the audio system, compatible with CD/pen drive and 5 microphones to amplify the various instruments / voice (if these are required).
DRAFT PROGRAMME
Wednesday, 9th October
Arrival of groups
Morning: free and possibility of optional excursion.
Afternoon: performance in one of the squares of Malgrat.Arrival of the groups. Free day or optional excursion.
Thursday, 10th October
Morning: Performances in one of the squares of Malgrat.
Afternoon: Free or optional excursion.
Friday, 11th October
Morning: Delegates from each group will be invited for an official welcome ceremony, by the Major of Malgrat de Mar at the Local Council’s Headquarters.
Afternoon: Parade with the participation of all groups along the waterfront and main streets of Malgrat de Mar followed by performances at Parc Campassol.
Evening: Spectacular show at the Hotel with the participation of all Groups.
Saturday, 12th October
Morning: Free to enjoy more Malgrat de Mar, or else take an optional excursion, in one of the wonderful places of Catalonia such as Barcelona, Girona, Tossa de Mar, etc.
Afternoon: Performances by all groups at the Plaza J.A. Clavé.
Sunday, 13th October
Morning: Free to enjoy more Malgrat de Mar or else take an optional excursion, in one of the wonderful places of Catalonia such as Barcelona, Girona, Tossa de Mar, etc.
Afternoon: Final parade and performances by all groups. At the end of the performances, there will be the Award ceremony by the Festival Organisation and local Authorities.
Monday 14th October
Departures of groups
The details ( days and times) of the performances and excursions are not final. The programme can be modified for organisational purposes.
The Final Programme will issued 10 days before the Festival.
If a group would like to arrive before or leave after the Festival days, in order to spend more days at Malgrat de Mar or due to flight itenaries, arrangements can be done.

Note:
✓ The choice of the hotel is subject to availability.
✓ When confirming your participation, you will be asked for a deposit of
30% of the total ammount.
✓ The deposit is not refundable.
✓ If due to flight itineraries, or else if you prefer so, you will have to spend
extra nights, arrangements can be done.
✓ Each group is responsible for airfare/transportation to Spain/Malgrat de
Mar.
✓ Participating groups should take the Festival accommodation packages.
✓ Airport transfers ( from Barcelona or Girona airports) can be arranged by
the Organisation upon request.
✓ Extra nights have a cost of €45 per person per night, Full Board
