Hanioti - most popular, prettiest place of Halkidiki, ideal for couples and families

Hanioti is a small and very picturesque village in Halkidiki, situated on the peninsula's first prong, only a 60 minute drive from Greece's northern capital, Thessaloniki. Upon arrival, every visitor will be captivated by this small picturesque paradise that has been designed to cater for the needs of even the most discerning traveler and guarantee a relaxing and memorable stay.

Close to Greece's northern capital, Thessaloniki, in the county of Halkidiki, the small village of Hanioti is a coastal settlement that offers the amenities of a cosmopolitan center, blessed by nature and characterized by crystal clear waters, greenery, traditional hospitality, friendly inhabitants, and unforgettable nights.

General Conditions

The International folk and modern dance festival “Hanioti” is a non - competitive festival. On the festival can participate children and youth folklore dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups and soloists, as well as groups and performers from other art styles. Participants should be from the age of 5 to 105. 

The Festival will be organized in the main square of Hanioti and surrounded villages of Municipality of Kassandria. The shows are organized in the evening hours with a short defile at the start. Groups should perform approximately 5-8 min either with live music or CD. 

Note: All groups need to send their music 10 days before festival!

During daytime it is possible to organize rehearsals in the amphitheater. 

In the end of the Festival, after the show, the Groups have gift exchange and receiving certificates.

As all the performances are in the evening hours, the festival team can organize several excursions: 

1.    Cruising boat for all interested participants – party on the ship. The ship sails through bay to the second peninsula making brakes on Toroni beach and Turtle island for swimming and sightseeing.

2.    Magic Park: Last day on the way back (or any one before) it is possible to organize visit to an exciting amusement park.  (17:00 – 20:00h)

Accommodation

Accommodation is organized in apartments 5 minutes from the beach and city center. The Groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 beds and 4 beds on a half board basis. Only 2 double rooms are available per group which can be used for the Leaders and drivers. For any extra double room, the group should pay extra 4 euro/person/day and for a single room additional 17 euro per day. 

On the main square around the amphitheater there are traditional Greek restaurants in which we organize breakfast and lunch. 

Note: The Groups must send the rooming list one month before the festival. Groups that do not send, the rooming list will be made by festival and can’t be any changes upon arrival.

Participation fee is 135€ per person and cover accommodation, 5 days HB (breakfast, lunch), and expenses of the festival organization. On 25 participants, every 26th is free of charge (usually driver or Leader of the group).

NOTE:

From the 1st January 2018 a new Overnight Stay Tax is introduced by the Government of Greece. This will be payable locally by the individual tourist on checking in to accommodation in Greece and varies according to the official rating of the accommodation as follows:

Ø  Apartments and studios (all categories): 0.50 Euros per room/per night

Ø  Hotels 1-2 stars: 0.50 Euros per room/per night

Ø  Hotels 3 stars: 1.50 Euro per room/per night

Ø  Hotels 4 stars: 3 Euro per room/per night

Participation expenses do not cover dinner (gyros 2,5 € at “Garry gyros” or dinner for 8 €).                       

Participation fee can be paid via bank transfer or in cash on the day of arrival. Advance payment of 10 euro per person should be made after receiving the official invitation. After this date (16.05.2019) advance payment are NOT refunded.

If the group shows interest in extending the stay the organizers should be informed during the application process (the price for extra night on half board basis is 25 euro per person).

Transport and Travel Conditions

The participant group should cover travel expenses for the trip between their country and Hanioti 

In the case the group arrives by plane, we can organize the transport Thessaloniki airport – Hanioti - Thessaloniki airport (price is 750 €)

In the last 15 years on the Festival in Hanioti participated 26.000 children.

The organizer reserves the right for any changes in the program, and the participants will be informed on time. By applying you confirm that you accept all festival conditions.
