INVITATION
We are pleased to invite folk ensembles, choral groups, art schools, majorette teams, orchestras, ballroom dance groups, and modern dance teams — from children, youth, and adult categories — to take part in the 31st edition of the International Music & Folk Dance Festival "DURRES FEST" in the coastal city of Durrës, Albania.
Festival Mission
The festival’s goal is to present the rich cultural traditions of different countries, provide a platform for connection and cultural exchange through music and dance, and bring music to the people — performing on the streets and squares of Durrës. This non-competitive festival is open to groups of all ages and genders.
About Durrës
Durrës is the second largest city in Albania, located just 33 km from Tirana. Home to the country’s main port, cultural venues, museums, and historic sites, including the largest amphitheatre in the Balkans, Durrës is a city of ancient beauty and modern vibrancy. The city boasts over 800,000 annual tourists, beautiful beaches, and attractions like the Durrës Castle, Royal Villa, and Aleksandër Moisiu Theatre.
General Rules
- Non-competitive performances including traditional and modern dances, brass bands, orchestras, choirs, majorettes, and art schools.
- Open to children’s, youth, and adult groups.
- Maximum 3 groups per country.
- Group size: Up to 70 members (performers, managers, musicians, family).
- Each group should prepare 2 dances (10–15 mins each) or a 15-minute choral program (USB or live music).
- Performances take place in the evenings.
- Required: Short CV, 5 group photos, national flag, own transport for arrival and departure.
Festival Program
Day 1 – 17 June 2025
- 13:00 – Arrival in Durrës, hotel check-in, beach time
- 18:00 – Dinner (buffet) in hotel
- 21:00 – Welcome reception with group leaders
Day 2 – 18 June 2025
- 09:00 – Breakfast (buffet)
- 11:00–15:00 – Sightseeing tour of Durrës
- 18:00 – Dinner (buffet) in hotel
- 19:30 – Parade on main street & Opening Festival Night on the main square
- Each group performs a 12–15 minute program
Day 3 – 19 June 2025
- 09:00 – Breakfast (buffet)
- 10:30–15:00 – Beach time or visit to Krujë’s historic monuments and museum
- 18:00 – Dinner (buffet)
- 21:00 – Dance workshop – exchange of traditional dances
Day 4 – 20 June 2025
- 09:00 – Breakfast (buffet)
- 10:30–15:00 – Beach time or visit to Krujë
- 17:00 – Dinner (buffet)
- 21:00 – Poolside farewell party with all participants
Day 5 – 21 June 2025
- 09:00 – Breakfast (buffet)
- 11:00 – Departure of participants
Participation Fee
- €135 per person for 3 HB nights (3 nights with 2 meals per day)
- €175 per person for 4 HB nights (4 nights with 2 meals per day – open buffet)

Additional Information
- Tourist tax & insurance: €1 per person/day (mandatory)
- Optional extension stay: €47 per person/day (half board)
- Transport from Tirana Airport can be arranged (extra cost based on group size)
- Transfers from Ohrid Airport (Wizz Air) available on request
- Festival is organized by World Festival Association – WOFA and the Municipality of Durrës

- 2017: 10 groups, 8 EU countries, 377 participants
- 2018: 11 groups, 9 EU countries, 414 participants
- 2019: 15 groups, 11 EU countries, 600 participants
