The Old Town Hall with the famous Prague Astronomical Clock. Cafes enticing you to come and have a seat, boutiques and sight-seeing cruises on the Vltava. The Gothic Charles Bridge and Church of St. Nicholas in the Lesser Town. The Palace Gardens set away from the bustle of the city, Petřín with a lookout tower reminiscent of a small Eiffel Tower and Prague Castle … Each of Prague’s districts has its own characteristic atmosphere and unique charm. Prague presents itself to you as a changeable city, which likes to alternate styles: it is romantic and successful, ancient and modern, but above all it is a city that is cosmopolitan and is used to welcoming foreigners.
General Rules
The International Folk Dance Festival “Prague ” is a non-competitive festival of traditional and modern dances. On the festival may participate children and youth folklore dance groups, modern dance groups, instrumental groups, choirs, as well as groups and performers from other art styles with minimum 10 persons on the stage. The age of participants is not limited.
During the Festival each Group will have 2 performances which will be organized in closed Concert Hall and on open stage where groups can perform either with live music or USB. According to the number of participants the minutes of the performance will be defined. The performances will be in the evening hours so you can plan the day ahead and use it for visiting the city attractions or shopping. Every Group will be rewarded with a Certificate for taking part on the Festival.
Festival Program:
Day 1
15:00-Arrival and accommodation groups at the hotel
21:00-Meeting with representative and a short description of the festival program.
Day 2
10:00-Free Time – Excursions Day (You can find more information in the “Excursions” section.)
18:00-Concert (Depending on the number of the groups we will let you know about the minutes of your performance.)
Day 3
10:00-Free Time – Excursions Day (You can find more information in the “Excursions” section.)
18:00-Concert (Depending on the number of the groups we will let you know about the minutes of your performance.)
21:00-Diploma Rewarding (After the ceremony of the closing festival, we prepare a small Zumba party on stage for all participants)
Day 4
10:30-Departure After Breakfast
Detailed Festival Program will be given to you 1 month before the start of the festival.
The organizer reserves the right to any changes in the program, and the participants will be informed on time. By applying you confirm that you accept all festival conditions!
Accommodation
The accommodation of the participants will be organized in 3*** Hotel on a HB basis. The groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 and 4 beds with their own bathroom. Each Group can have only 2 double rooms which can be used for the Leaders and Drivers.
For any extra double room the group should pay extra 7 euro/person/day and for a single room additional 25 euro per day.
NOTE: The Groups must send the rooming list by end of February. Groups that do not send, the rooming list will be made by festival and can’t be any changes upon arrival.
The festival fee is:
- 115 euro per person (2 nights with 2 meals per day) (12-14 April)
- 169 euro per person (3 nights with 2 meals per day)(11-14 April)
It covers organizational expenses, accommodation in 3*** Hotel for 2 or 3 nights with 2 meals per day. On every 25 participants, one member is free of charge.
If the group shows interest in extending the stay the organizers should be informed during the application process and the price for extra night is 30 euro per person per day.
Tourist taz is additional of 2,20 euro per person per day
Participation fee can be paid via bank transfer or in cash on the day of arrival. Advance payment of 30 euro per person should be made after receiving the official invitation.
Transport and Travel Conditions
The groups should pay the travel expenses by themselves to Prague and back. The groups coming by bus should use their own transport all the time during the festival.
Parking for buses (during your stay) is paid by the group at the rate set on the parking place.
The Organizers can organize the transport for the groups coming by plane by picking them up from airport, during the festival days and back to the same airport. The cost of the transportation will be covered by the group and will be additionally agreed according to their number.
Excursions:
1. Sightseeing of PRAGUE – the magnificent town in Eastern Europe get to know it in person. The Old Town Hall with the famous Prague Astronomical Clock, the Gothic Charles Bridge, and Church of St. Nicholas in the Lesser Town, the most beautiful Baroque church in Prague.
2. BOAT TOUR ON VLTAVA - If this is your first time in Prague and you want to see all the famous places in comfort, let us invite you to our one-hour Prague cruise tour. Cruise by boat on the Vltava is the ideal way of getting to know Prague from an entirely new angle.

4. PRAGUE ZOO - Thanks to its unique position, Prague Zoo is considered one of the most beautiful zoos in the world. The rugged terrain offers over 10 km of walking trails through such exotic exhibitions as the Africa House, the Indonesian jungle, or the Valley of the Elephants. This beautiful slice of nature is a popular destination for families with children who can pet and feed animals at the Children's Zoo.
After receiving your application we will send you the official invitation for participating on the Festival. We will also assist you in obtaining visa if necessary. Each member must have travel insurance policy.
The organizer reserves the right to any changes in the program, and the participants will be informed on time. The copy right of all video materials and pictures are ownership of the Organization of the Festival. By applying you confirm that you accept all festival conditions!
