Hanioti is a small and very picturesque village in Halkidiki, situated on the peninsula's first prong, only a 60 minute drive from Greece's northern capital, Thessaloniki. Upon arrival, every visitor will be captivated by this small picturesque paradise that has been designed to cater for the needs of even the most discerning traveler and guarantee a relaxing and memorable stay.Close to Greece's northern capital, Thessaloniki, in the county of Halkidiki, the small village of Hanioti is a coastal settlement that offers the amenities of a cosmopolitan center, blessed by nature and characterized by crystal clear waters, greenery, traditional hospitality, friendly inhabitants, and unforgettable nights.
The International folk and modern dance festival “Hanioti” is a non - competitive festival. On the festival can participate children and youth folklore dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups and soloists, as well as groups and performers from other art styles. Participants should be from the age of 5 to 105.
The Festival will be organized in the main square of Hanioti and surrounded villages of Municipality of Kassandria. The shows are organized in the evening hours with a short defile at the start. Groups should perform approximately 5-10 min either with live music or USB. In the end of the Festival, after the show, the Groups have gift exchange and receiving certificates
During daytime it is possible to organize rehearsals in the amphitheater.
As all the performances are in the evening hours, the festival team can organize several excursions:
1. Cruising boat for all interested participants – party on the ship. The ship sails through bay to the second peninsula making brakes on Toroni beach and Turtle island for swimming and sightseeing.
2. Magic Park: Last day on the way back (or any one before) it is possible to organize visit to an exciting amusement park.
Accommodation is organized in 3* hotels 5 minutes from the beach and city center. The Groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 beds and 4 beds on a half board basis. Only 2 double rooms are available per group which can be used for the Leaders and drivers.
It covers 5 days HB (breakfast and dinner), and expenses of the festival organization. On 25 participants, every 26th is free of charge (usually driver or Leader of the group).
- 6 days (5 nights) = 169 € per person
The participant group should cover travel expenses for the trip between their country and Hanioti.
In the case the group arrives by plane, we can organize the transport Thessaloniki airport – Hanioti - Thessaloniki airport (price is 850 €)
Tourist tax is additional paymant and it is:
Hotels 1-2 stars: 0.50 Euros per room/per night
Hotels 3 stars: 1.50 Euro per room/per night
Hotels 4 stars: 3 Euro per room/per night
In the last 20 years on the Festival in Hanioti participated 30.000 children.

XXVI INTERNATIONAL FOLK AND MODERN DANCE FESTIVAL „HANIOTI“
“The story started 13 years ago, when we decided to organize international folklore festival in Greece for the first time. The festival is called Hanioti, like the beautiful town where it’s taking place. So many years of friendship, safeguarding, promotion and presentation of tradition and culture”, said about the 25th edition of XXVI International Folk and Modern Dance Festival „HANIOTI“ (May) director of the festival. This year, it that took place from 28th of May till 02nd of June in the small and beautiful village in Halkidiki - Chaniotis.13 folk groups from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Estonia, Serbia, Turkey, Slovakia and Georgia took part at the festival. There were over 550 participants at different age, different styles of music and dance and many more spectators.During the 6 days, the participants had a chance to have 4 festival performances in different towns in Chalikidiki. The first opening and the last closing festivals were in the Chaniotis. The second one was in Polichrono and the third festival was in Paliouri
“The organizers, together with the participants exchanged as much different cultural experiences as it is possible. Our main priority was to have fun, to sing, dance and leave this stunning peninsula of Greece with a box full of memories and positive experiences.” continues the story the festival director.
Additionally, what made these six days more beautiful and cool are Folkiada games, zumba and boat cruise. During them participants have a chance to know each other better, to have a wonderful time full of laugh and happiness. And the most important thing to make a lifetime memories. Many new friendships were created, colorful costumes, dances and songs were successfully presented, as all this contributed to the discovery of many new cultural facts and traditions.
“We are very proud that people from various parts of the world, who were part of this festival, were united in heart and in action by conducting their own culture and sharing the fun and enjoyment with other cultures. Because of all of this, we as an organization team are proud that we were able to succeed in accomplishing our mission. It was an event worth remembering and it deserves a recap. So, we announce the second international folklore festival in “Hanioti” in the same place in September. Everyone are welcome. See you there.” – with these words the director invites new participants.
