5th International folk dance festival “Zaigraj - Zapevaj” will be held in Belgrade from 13.05 - 16.05.2016.

Belgrade (Beograd) is the capital of Serbia, and has a population of around 2 million. It is situated in South-Eastern Europe, at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe and has since ancient times been an important focal point for traffic, an intersection of the roads of Eastern and Western Europe.

There are spots in Belgrade you must definitely see and feel: streets, squares, monuments, parks, drinking fountains, archeological sites, and other sights that deserve recommendation. Many of them have been given the status of cultural assets.

Belgrade Fortress represents old citadel and Kalemegdan Park on the confluence of the River Sava and Danube, in an urban area of modern Belgrade. It is located in Belgrade's municipality of Stari Grad. Belgrade Fortress was declared Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance, and it is protected by Republic of Serbia.

The Cathedral of Saint Sava is an Orthodox church in Belgrade, the largest Orthodox cathedral on the Balkans, and one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the world. The church is dedicated to Saint Sava, founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church and an important figure in medieval Serbia.

Knez Mihailova Street is the main walking street in Belgrade, it is a pedestrian zone and shopping center, protected by law as one of the oldest and most valuable landmarks of the city. It has a large number of impressive buildings and mansions built at the end of the 1870s.

Conditions for participation:

The Folk Dance Festival is a noncompetitive festival.
On the festival can participate children and youth folklore dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups and soloists, as well as groups and performers from other art styles.
The number and age of the participants are not limited.
During the festival every ensemble will have at least two shows from 5 to 10 minutes (live music or CD).
Note: All groups need to send their music by e-mail 10 days before festival!
Every group should bring their national flag and two gifts for exchanging with Organization and local authorities.
Most programs are held in the evening hours with short Defile before concert, so you can use your daytime to spend in lovely Belgrade and around Serbia.
During free days it’s possible to organize sightseeing of Belgrade, Boat trip and etc.

Participation fee:

110 Euro per person: accommodation in Hotels (rooms are with 3 and 4 beds; 2 double rooms are provided for leaders and drivers).
95 Euro per person: accommodation in Hostels (rooms are with 4, 6, 8 and 10 beds)

Each 26th participant is accommodated free of charge.

Accommodation:

Groups are accommodated in Hotels and Hostels nearby city center on a HB basis (2 meals per day).

Participation fee includes:

accommodation in Hotel or Hostel for 3 nights,2 meals per day
organization expenses.

Transport:

The participant/group should cover the travel expenses from their country to Belgrade. In the case the group arrive by plane, we can organize transport Airport – Hotel / Hostel – Airport (250€).

Parking for buses is paid by the group at the rate set on the parking place!

The participant group has to arrive in Belgrade on 13th of May 2016 (starting with lunch) and leave on 16th of May 2016 after breakfast and leave the rooms till 10:00.

Every Ensemble will be rewarded with a Certificate for taking part in the Festival.

The organizer reserves the right to any changes in the program, and the participants will be informed on time. The copyright of all video materials and pictures are ownership of the Organization of the Festival.
