INVITATION

With pleasure, we INVITE YOU (children’s, youth, and adult folklore groups, modern dance groups, vocal groups, majorette teams, instrumental groups) to participate in the XXXI International Festival of Dance and Songs “OHRID SUMMER FEST,” which will take place from 18–22 July  in Ohrid, Macedonia.

The festival’s main purpose is to present cultural traditions from different countries and regions, allowing group members to form friendships while showcasing their culture through dance and music.


 PARTICIPATION INFORMATION

The festival is non-competitive, and every group has the right to participate. Children’s, youth, and adult groups are welcome. The number of participants is limited to three groups per country. Each group should consist of up to 60 members, including dancers, managers, and musicians.

Ensembles should prepare at least two dances, 10–15 minutes each, with live orchestra or USB. Choral groups should prepare a 15–20 minute free program. Evening performances are scheduled so that daytime can be used for sightseeing and excursions.

Groups must submit a short CV and 2–3 photos by email and bring their country’s flag. Each group is responsible for arranging its own transport to and from Ohrid.

WOFA offers comfortable accommodation options in city-center and lakeside hotels. Participants can choose from Bed & Breakfast (BB), Half Board (HB), or Full Board (FB) packages.

Insurance:
Personal responsibility and health insurance are the group’s responsibility. First aid and hospital services will be available, but medical costs must be covered by the group.

Extended stay rates:
Half Board – 31 € per person per day
Full Board – 35 € per person per day
Special program for additional days can be arranged.


 TRANSPORT

Free airport transfers are organized for groups arriving at Ohrid Airport. Groups arriving at Skopje, Tirana, or Thessaloniki airports (approx. 200 km from Ohrid) must cover their own transport; festival team can assist with arrangements. Visa assistance is available if needed.

10:30–14:00 – Ohrid sightseeing: St. Sofia Church, Samoil Fortress (2 €), Antique Theatre, Plaosnik (2 €), St. Kaneo Church, Bridge of Wishes, Old Ohrid exhibition with rakia and wine tasting (1 €)
14:00–15:00 – Lunch in hotel
18:30–19:30 – Dinner in hotel
20:00 – Ensemble parade (old town)
21:00 – Official festival opening

Day 3
08:00–10:00 – Breakfast
10:30–14:00 – Visit Stara Carsia, oldest tree “Cinar,” Biljanini Springs, Ohrid Pearl, old paper manufactory, shopping
14:00–15:00 – Lunch in hotel
19:00–21:00 – Dinner in hotel
20:00 – Workshop (learning dances), socialization

Day 4
08:00–10:00 – Breakfast, free activities
10:30–15:30 – Boat cruise on Ohrid Lake to St. Naum, swimming at beach (12 € per person, lunch packet included)
20:00–21:00 – Dinner in hotel
21:00–00:00 – Party with all participants

Day 5

11:00 – Departure of participants

Day 4: Boat cruise on Ohrid Lake to St. Naum with swimming at sandy beach.
