We invite you to join us in the city of Kilkis, Greece. The 2nd Traditional Dance Festival “Chorou Terpsis” for Children’s and Youth Dance Groups will take place over two musical and dance evenings on June 13 & 14, 2026, at the Open Hill Theatre of Kilkis. The festival is organized by the Association Likion Hellinidon Kilkis, a non-profit organization founded in 1993, which has demonstrated significant voluntary work in the fields of culture and tradition, with the primary goal of preserving Greek folklore traditions and introducing them to younger generations. In 2006, the organization was awarded by the Academy of Athens, the highest distinction granted to only a few associations.
Festival Welcomes:
Traditional dance groups (Children’s and Youth groups).
Any Association or Cultural Organization based in Greece or abroad that operates a Traditional Dance Group.
General Rules:
Performance lasting max 12 minutes (or 15 minutes if including a custom or traditional reenactment).
Minimum 15 dancers, no upper limit.
Dancers must be aged between 7 and 18 years old.
Dancers must arrive wearing traditional costumes at least 30 minutes before the event.
Bring association banner.
Dressing rooms available at the theatre (inform organizers in advance if needed for costume changes).
Each group will have a designated liaison person.
Groups arrange own transport (all transportation responsibility of groups).
Accommodation Info
Accommodation at 3-4* hotels in the city of Kilkis with breakfast.
Participation Fee (for groups from abroad with free accommodation and meals):
30 EUR per person
Accommodation (free of charge for 2 selected groups from abroad):
Free accommodation for up to 25 people per group
3 nights (from June 12 to June 15, 2026) with breakfast
Two meals offered on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14
