A MAGICAL CULTURAL START OF THE FESTIVAL IN SARANDA

From 27 May to 01 June, the International Festival transformed the beautiful coastal city of Saranda, Albania, into a vibrant center of culture, music, dance, and international friendship. Folklore ensembles and choral groups from across Europe filled the city with traditional melodies, colorful costumes, and unforgettable performances, creating a unique atmosphere on the main square of Saranda.
This year’s festival gathered outstanding participants from several countries: Chamber Choir Lavirint from Serbia, Hor Lucă from Montenegro, City Choir Budva from Montenegro, The Folk Dance Group of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University from Poland, Ansamblul Folcloric „Bratia” Vlădești-Argeș from Romania, Folklore Group Dor Transilvan from Romania, together with an ensemble from Saranda, Albania.
More of 300 participants proudly presented the cultural heritage, traditions, music, and dances of its homeland, offering audiences a rich artistic journey through different regions of Europe.
The festival evening was held on 29 May on the main city square. At the end of the performances, all participating groups received certificates and statues as a sign of appreciation for their contribution to the festival and for promoting international cultural cooperation.
The festival was organized by WOFA – World Festival Association in cooperation with the Municipality of Saranda and the Center of Culture. .
Beyond the stage performances, participants had the opportunity to discover the beauty and history of Saranda, one of Albania’s most attractive coastal destinations. They enjoyed the magnificent views of the Ionian Sea, explored the city’s lively atmosphere, and visited the beautiful Greek island of Corfu.
All groups were accommodated in wonderful 5★ hotel Andon Lapa, providing comfortable stay and high-quality services throughout the festival days.
The next International Festival in Saranda will take place from 14–18 October2026
