ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

With pleasure we INVITE (folk ensembles, choral groups, orchestras, brass bands, modern dance groups, majorette teams – children and youth) to participate in the VIII International Çanakkale Folk Dance Festival.

The intention of our festival is to present the cultural traditions of different countries and provide opportunities for group members to come together, establish friendships, and showcase their heritage through dance and music. The festival aims to bring music to the people and present performances in public spaces.

Çanakkale, a city with extensive azure-flagged beaches, is one of the most captivating tourist destinations at the entrance of the Aegean Sea. The historical legacy stretches from the ancient city of Troy to the legendary Gallipoli battlefields.

From ancient ruins like Alexandria Troas, Assos, and the Zeus Altar, to modern marvels like Gokceada, Bozcaada, and the Dardanelles, Çanakkale offers both nature and history. The festival offers the perfect blend of sightseeing and performance.

FESTIVAL PROGRAM

Day 1 – July 5, 2025

• 14:00 – Arrival in Çanakkale, hotel accommodation
• 18:30 – 19:30 – Dinner in hotel
• 20:30 – Director & choreographer meeting

Day 2 – July 6, 2025

• 07:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast
• 10:00 – 14:00 – City tour, ancient bazaar visit or free time (optional)
• 16:00 – Open-air performance
• 19:00 – 20:00 – Dinner in hotel

Day 3 – July 7, 2025

• 07:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast
• 09:00 – 15:00 – Free time
• 16:00 – 19:00 – Festival party
• 19:00 – 20:00 – Dinner in hotel

Day 4 – July 8, 2025

• 07:00 – 09:00 – Breakfast
• 10:00 – 15:00 – Free time
• 16:00 – 18:00 – Gala performance
• 19:30 – 20:30 – Dinner in hotel

Day 5 – July 9, 2025

• 07:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast
• 12:00 – Departure

Organizers reserve the right to modify the schedule if needed.

 PARTICIPATION RULES

1. Open to folk dance groups, orchestras, majorette teams, choirs, and modern dance groups from all countries.
2. Each group must present at least two dances of 8–15 minutes (with USB or live music).
3. Bring your national flag and gifts for official visits.
4. Submit:

• Completed application form
• Brief group CV
• 3 photos
• Participant list (by July 15, 2025) with full details

Groups must arrange their own transport to and from Çanakkale.

 PARTICIPATION FEE

• €100 per person for 3 nights / 2 meals per day (Half Board)
• €130 per person for 4 nights / 2 meals per day (Half Board)
• Additional day: €35 per person/day
• Complimentary participation for 1 leader per 25 participants (24+1)

Accommodation includes:

• Kumru Hotels, Çanakkale
• Leaders and drivers: 2 double rooms
• Participants: triple/quadruple rooms

Extra charges:

• Double room: +€7/day per person
• Single room: +€15/day per person

 PAYMENT TERMS

• 10% guarantee fee to confirm participation (deducted from total)
• 20% accommodation prepayment required to secure booking
• Remaining amount: Pay before or upon arrival (with organizer agreement)
