ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The International Folklore Festival – “Folk Friends Together” is an event dedicated to showcasing cultural traditions through dance and music, fostering international friendships, and celebrating diverse artistic expressions. 


 PROGRAM SCHEDULE

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL & WELCOME (Thursday, August 21, 2025)

  • 14:00 – 16:00 – Arrival, accommodation, free time
  • 19:00 – Meeting with ensemble directors
  • 20:00 – Dinner, rest

DAY 2 – FESTIVAL OPENING (Friday, August 22, 2025)

  • 07:30 – 09:00 – Breakfast
  • 09:00 – Free time (Fun Park “WEEKEND” / Zoo visit)
  • 16:00 – Departure to Tarnaveni (~35 km)
  • 17:15 – Official reception with city officials (gift exchange)
  • 18:00 – Festival Parade in Tarnaveni city center
  • 19:00 – Gala Concert (each ensemble: 1 dance up to 10 min.)
  • 21:00 – Festive dinner & party, return to accommodation, rest

DAY 3 – CULTURAL ACTIVITIES (Saturday, August 23, 2025)

  • 07:30 – 09:00 – Breakfast
  • 09:00 – Free time (Turda Salt Mine visit*)
  • 21:00 – Dinner, rest

DAY 4 – CLOSING CEREMONY (Sunday, August 24, 2025)

 

  • 07:30 – 09:00 – Breakfast
  • 09:00 – Free time (Fun Park “WEEKEND” / Zoo visit)
  • 18:00 – Final Performances (one evolution per ensemble, 15-20 min.)
  • 22:00 – Closing Ceremony:

 

  • Diploma and participation CD presentation
  • Fireworks show
  • Parade of ensembles with flags

DAY 5 – DEPARTURE (Monday, August 25, 2025)

  • 07:30 – 09:00 – Breakfast
  • 09:00 – 11:00 – Ensemble departures

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Maximum participants per ensemble: 45 persons (including leaders, drivers, interpreters).
  • Participation fee: €175 per person (4 nights, half board: breakfast and dinner).
  • Arrival: Up to 12:00 PM on August 21, 2025; Departure: August 25, 2025.
  • Commitment: Participants must attend rehearsals and concerts in the festival program.
  • Transport:
  • Groups must arrange their own transport.
  • Bus transfer from Cluj Napoca/Sibiu Airport is available for an extra fee.
  • Visa requirements: Confirmation by April 30, 2025.
  • Accommodation:
  • Hotels (2/3/4-bed rooms), including half board (breakfast and dinner).
  • Groups must check out on August 25 after breakfast.
  • Guides: Each group will be provided with an English-speaking guide/interpreter.
  • Medical insurance:
  • Each participant must have valid medical insurance.
  • The festival provides emergency medical support.
  • Performance details:
  • Two daily/evening performances (5-15 minutes each).
  • Outdoor and indoor venues.
  • Live or recorded music allowed (sound system provided by the festival).
  • Groups may perform in additional venues upon festival approval.
  • Promotional activities: Ensembles may participate in promotional events in Tarnaveni – Targu Mures.
  • National representation: Each ensemble must bring its national flag.
  • Cultural program: Includes sightseeing, cultural visits, and excursions (e.g., Turda Salt Mine, Bran Castle).
  • Festival awards:
  • Each ensemble receives a plaque and participation diploma.
  • Gift exchanges with local officials and organizers.
  • Discipline: Directors are responsible for their ensemble's discipline, punctuality, and artistic quality.
