With pleasure we INVITE you to participate on X International Festival of Songs and Dance “ESMERALD ISLAND” which will be held on 19 – 24 September 2024

Thassos is one of the most amazing Greek Islands surrounded by the crystal blue waters of the Aegean Sea, near the northern coast of Greece. Here you can immerse yourself in a breath - taking natural environment and get to know a laid - back culture that warmly welcomes every visitor.

The International Festival “Emerald Island” is a non-competitive festival of traditional and modern dances. On the festival may participate children and youth folklore dance groups, modern dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups, choirs, as well as groups and performers from other art styles. The age of participants is not limited.

The participation fee of 150€ covers 6 days accommodation in Apartments and Hotels on Half Board Basis (2 meals per day), invitation letter, gifts, participation at 2 concerts, and expenses of the festival organization. The fee does not cover travel insurance city tax, and transfers.

The Groups will be accommodated in rooms with 2, 3 and 4 beds with their own bathroom. Each Group can have 2 double rooms, guaranteed by Festival which can be used for the Leaders and Drivers.

Extra charges:

Double Room: 5 euro/person/day

Single Room: 18 euro/day

Extra night: 26 euro/person/day

The breakfast and lunch will be organized in the hotel or traditional Greek restaurants very close to the apartments.

The participation fee can be paid via bank transfer or in cash on the day of arrival. Each participant group should pay 30% in advance after receiving the official invitation. After this date  advance payments are not refunded.  In case of price increase, due to the global crisis, we reserve the right to adjust the festival fee.

The groups coming by bus can use their own transport all the time during the festival and the small journeys around the city. The Parking is FREE.

The groups coming by plane should organize the transportation from their country to the airport (Kavala / Thessaloniki) and back. The cost of the transportation from the airport to the hotel will be covered by the group and will be additionally agreed upon according to their number.

Participating conditions are:

- Every folklore group, vocal groups, majorette teams and other style has the right to participate. 

-         The number of groups participants of the festival are limited (only 3 folk groups from each country),

-         Each group should consist of most 50 members including dancers, managers and musicians - Age of the participants are not limited,

-         Ensemble should have prepared at least 2 folk dances, 08-15 minutes each with orchestra or USB,

-         To send CV and 3 photos by mail,

-         To bring a flag of the country,

-       Groups should have there own transport for arrival and departure,

The participation fee:
