XXI International music & folk - dance festival “DURRES SUNSET”

INVITATION

We invite all children’s, youth, and adult ensembles to participate in the XXXII International Music & Folk-Dance Festival “DURRES SUNSET,” to be held in Durres, Albania.

The festival aims to bring together cultural traditions from different countries and create friendship and exchange through dance and music, presented in public spaces like streets and squares.

Participation Information

Eligibility: Open to all children’s, youth, and adult ensembles. Only 3 groups per country can participate. Each group can include up to 70 members, including dancers, managers, musicians, and family members.

Folk ensembles must prepare two folk dances, 10–15 minutes each (with orchestra or USB). Choral groups should prepare a free program of approximately 15 minutes. Groups must submit a short CV and 5 photos of the group and bring their national flag.

Groups are responsible for arranging their own transport for arrival and departure.

Accommodation Information

Participants will stay at the 5-star Hotel Bonita Clasic, located directly on Durres’ famous sand beach, featuring an outdoor pool, aqua park, and private beach access.

Room options include double and triple rooms, with additional double rooms available upon request for an extra 10 EUR per room per night, additional single rooms available upon request for an extra 20 EUR per room per night.Tourist tax is an additional charge of 1 EUR per person per day.

Participation fee

- 144 EUR per person for 3 nights with 2 meals per day,

- 184 EUR per person for 4 nights with 2 meals per day.

- 224 EUR per person for 5 nights with 2 meals per day.

Groups can extend their stay for 40 EUR per person per day.

For every 24 participants, one spot is free of charge.(24+1) or (48+2)

Festival organizers also provide souvenirs, group certificates, welcome reception, drinks during performances, free parking, and promotional coverage.

Transportation: for groups who are coming by plane, we can arrange transport from Tirana airport to Durres.

 Program Information

Day 1
13:00 – Arrival in Durres, hotel check-in, and beach time.
18:00–19:00 – Buffet dinner at the hotel.
21:00 – Welcome meeting.

Day 2
09:00–10:00 – Buffet breakfast.
11:00–15:00 – Guided sightseeing tour of Durres.
18:00–19:00 – Buffet dinner at the hotel.
19:30–23:00 – Parade on the main street leading to the square for the festival evening.

Day 3
09:00–10:00 – Buffet breakfast.
10:30–15:00 – Optional beach time or Kruje excursion.
18:00–20:00 – Buffet dinner at the hotel.
21:00 – Gala evening with short performances from each group (5-minute presentation). Awards and certificates presented to all participants.

Day 4
09:00–10:00 – Buffet breakfast.
10:30–15:00 – Beach time or optional excursion to Kruje.
17:00–18:00 – Buffet dinner at the hotel.
21:00 – Free time.

Day 5
09:00–11:00 – Buffet breakfast and departure.

Step 2 — Confirmation

You’ll instantly receive an email confirming we got your application.

Step 3 — Application Number

Within 2 days you’ll receive your Application Number and required materials list.

Step 4 — Review

WOFA reviews your application and checks availability.

Step 5 — Acceptance

If accepted, you’ll receive an Invitation Letter and deposit instructions.

Deposit must be paid within 10 days.

Step 6 — Secure Your Spot

Send us your deposit confirmation. Your participation is officially confirmed.

Step 7 — Finalization

A WOFA coordinator will guide you through the final steps: participant list, travel details, and performance info.

TIRANA & KRUJA Full-Day Tour (15 guests required)
Hotel pick up/drop off, transport, certified guide. Visit Mother Teresa Square, Clock Tower, Et’hem Bey Mosque, Skanderbeg Square, Bunk’Art 2 (optional), Kruja Castle, Old Bazaar, Skanderbeg Museum (optional).

TIRANA Half-Day Tour (15 guests required)
Hotel pick up/drop off, transport, certified guide. Visit Mother Teresa Square, Bllok Area, Clock Tower, Et’hem Bey Mosque, Skanderbeg Square, History Museum (optional), Bunk’Art 2 (optional). Walking tour and optional museum visits.

Divjakë-Karavasta National Park Full-Day Tour (15 guests required)
Hotel pick up/drop off, boat, transport, all entry tickets, certified guide. Visit the National Park, 360° Wooden Observation Tower, Karavasta Lagoon by boat, Butterfly Museum, and free time to relax in nature.
