Malta International Christmas Choir Festival
Location: Medina, Malta
Director: G.N. & WOFA
Application Deadline: 4 November, 2026
INVITATION
The Malta International Christmas Choir Festival offers a unique opportunity for choirs from around the world to gather and perform in a reciprocal cultural exchange. The festival is non-competitive and open to a variety of choirs, including mixed choirs, male choirs, women’s choirs, youth choirs, sacred music choirs, gospel choirs, and folk music choirs.
Each choir is encouraged to perform in its own style. As the festival takes place in Catholic churches, the song list must include sacred music, Christmas carols, and possibly gospel songs. Choirs may perform “a cappella” or with accompaniment, such as piano, organ, or other instruments. The festival organization provides a piano or organ for each church, or an electric keyboard if a church organ is unavailable. Any additional instruments must be brought by the respective choirs.
Participation conditions:
The number of participants is limited. Each group should consist of up to 70 members, including singers, managers, and musicians. Age of participants is not restricted. Choirs should prepare at least two performances for two sections, 8–14 minutes each, with or without instruments. A short CV and photos of the choir and conductor must be sent by mail. Choirs must bring their national flag and arrange their own transport for arrival and departure.
