We would like to invite You to the Budapest Open International Folklore Meeting 2018.
The festival traditionally is held the first week of August. The location is a wonderful capital city of Hungary, Budapest.
Application deadline: 15th June 2018. Early registration is recommended because Budapest hotels are very busy in high season.
Number and age of the participants are not limited. Folk dancers, singers, choirs, musicians, brass bands all are very welcome.
The participants will meet and perform together with our host: Törekvés Folk Dance Ensemble.
In 2017 we hosted groups from Poland, Latvia, Greece, Lithuania, Croatia, ARGENTINA and Hungary.
Program:
The festival's main event is the Saturday Gala Program.
The gala program will be held at a historic location in Budapest on an open-air stage. The exact location is being organized.
We take the groups' own claims into consideration.
Common entertainment, dance theaching, playing music together in the evenings.
We hope, that the participants will let the summer holidays, the cultural experience and the forming of the international friendships be combined.
Free additional programs:
- evening sightseeing by boat on the Danube
- Gulash Party
- walking sightseeing tour in Budapest (St. Stephen's Basilica, Parliament, Castle Area)
- sightseeing with the group's own bus (Hero’s Square, Gellért Hill)

Additional programs for extra costs:
- sightseeing tour in Budapest with a special bus and head-set guiding in many languages.
- spa and beach programs with a wide range of options

This optional programs are not free of charge. Group discount possibility.
Participation fee:
- 125 EUR per person in a 3* Hotel per 3 nights (3 - 4 bedded rooms) (1 - 2 bedded rooms are limited possibilities for extra fee)
Over 25 applicants 1 participant is free.
Participation fee includes:
- accomodation
- full board: breakfest, lunch, dinner for the whole staying (sometimes lunch or dinner pocket depend on the program)
- diplomas and gifts from the hosts
- official invitation
- free additional programs
Participation fee doesn’t includes:
- transport
- costly optional programs
- insurance
After the application the guarantee is 10% of the whole fee in advance. In case of cancellation advance will be not refund.
We hope we can spend some fantastic cultural days together in summer-time in Budapest together.
