INVITATION

With pleasure, we INVITE you (folk groups, choral groups, orchestras, and majorette teams), especially children’s and youth groups, to participate in the XXXI International Festival for Dance & Songs “LAKE FEST,” which will take place from June 4 to 8, 2025, in Ohrid.

The festival’s main motive is to present the cultural traditions of different countries and provide an opportunity for members of groups to come together, establish friendships, and showcase their culture through dance and music.

 PARTICIPATION INFORMATION

This is a non-competitive festival featuring traditional and modern dances, choral performances, and majorette teams. Folklore groups, choral groups, majorette teams, children’s ensembles, youth ensembles, and adult ensembles are welcome to participate. Groups from other art styles are also encouraged to apply.

The number of participants is limited to three groups from each country. Each group should consist of a maximum of 70 members, including dancers, managers, musicians, and family members.

Groups must prepare at least two dances, 10–15 minutes each, with orchestra or USB. Performances will be held in the evening hours to allow daytime sightseeing.

Each group should send a short CV and 2–3 photos and bring a flag of their country. Groups are responsible for their own transport for arrival and departure.

 PARTICIPATION FEE & ORGANIZER SERVICES

Participation with accommodation is included in the hotel package prices listed below.

Organizer services include one free place for every 25 participants (24+1 and 48+2), a souvenir and gift for each group, a Certificate of Attendance, drinks during performances, tourist guides for sightseeing, and festival advertising through press releases, social media, posters, and flyers.

Tourist tax and insurance are charged additionally at 1€ per person per day. Personal and group insurance is the responsibility of each group. First Aid and medical services are available on site but must be covered by the group.

After the festival, organizers will share a link where participants can download photos and videos from the performances.

 ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION

WOFA offers several accommodation options. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability is limited for some hotels.

19:15 – Ensembles parade in the old town
19:30 – Festival evening

Day 3 – Lake Cruise and Social Events
09:00–10:00 – Breakfast
11:00–14:30 – Boat cruise on Ohrid Lake and visit to St. Naum Monastery (14€ per person)
16:00–18:00 – Shopping and free time
18:00–20:00 – Dinner at the hotel
21:00–00:00 – Social events, exchange of presents, disco party

Day 4 – Excursion to Struga
09:00–10:00 – Breakfast
10:30–14:00 – Visit to Struga City (Miladinovci Brothers’ House, Crni Drim River, Kalishta Caves Church)
19:00–20:00 – Dinner at the hotel
21:00–00:00 – Macedonian evening or dance workshop

Day 5 – Departure

10:00–14:00 – Departure to Skopje with guided sightseeing of monuments
14:00 – Final departure from Skopje

Step 2 — Confirmation

You’ll instantly receive an email confirming we got your application.

Step 3 — Application Number

Within 2 days you’ll receive your Application Number and required materials list.

Step 4 — Review

WOFA reviews your application and checks availability.

Step 5 — Acceptance

If accepted, you’ll receive an Invitation Letter and deposit instructions.

Deposit must be paid within 10 days.

Step 6 — Secure Your Spot

Send us your deposit confirmation. Your participation is officially confirmed.

Step 7 — Finalization

A WOFA coordinator will guide you through the final steps: participant list, travel details, and performance info.

 EXCURSIONS INFORMATION

Day 2 – Ohrid City Tour
Sightseeing includes St. Sofia Church, Samoil Fortress, the Antique Theatre, Plaosnik, St. Kaneo Church, and the Bridge of Wishes.

Day 3 – Boat Cruise
Cruise on Ohrid Lake with visits to the Museum on Water and St. Naum Monastery. Price: 14€ per person.

Day 4 – Struga Excursion
Visit to Struga City, including Miladinovci Brothers’ House, the Crni Drim River, and Kalishta Caves Church. Shopping time and cultural workshops are also included.

 TRANSPORT INFORMATION

The festival will organize transport for groups arriving by plane at Ohrid Airport, with transfer to hotel free of charge. Transfers from Skopje, Tirana, or Thessaloniki airports (200 km away) can be arranged at additional cost depending on group size.
