INVITATION

We invite you to join us in the vibrant city of Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia, for the XI International Dance Festival “SIBU” from 16–20 September 2025. Sibu, located on the island of Borneo, is known for its rich cultural diversity, bustling markets, and scenic riverfront. The festival will take place at multiple venues, including the Sibu Esplanade (outdoor) and RH Hotel’s Jasmine Ballroom (indoor).

PARTICIPATION INFORMATION
The festival welcomes dance groups specializing in indigenous, folk, line, square, contemporary, and children’s dance (ages 10–15). Choreographers, directors, and performers from local and international groups are invited.

General Rules:
Maximum 14 members per group (12 dancers, 1 director, 1 choreographer).
Performances must not touch on LGBTQIA+ or 3R (Royalty, Religion, Race) topics, per Malaysian guidelines.
Submit high-resolution dance photos (4–5 images, 1.5 MB min, 300dpi) and video links (YouTube or similar) of rehearsals/performances.
Original choreography is required for all performances.
Groups are responsible for their own transport to Sibu; local transfers will be provided during the festival.

ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION
Accommodation at RH Hotel, Sibu:
Provided for 2 nights for up to 14 members per group.
Room-sharing basis (2–4 persons per room, same gender).
Private room option: RM 200/night (paid at registration).
Check-in: 15 Sept before 18:00 | Check-out: 17 Sept before 13:00.

Meals Included:
Breakfast and dinner (15–17 Sept). Lunch not provided.

Day 1 – Check-in / Arrival at RH Hotel, Opening Night + Indigenous Dance Night at Sibu Esplanade (Outdoor)
Day 2 – Dance Workshop at RH Hotel, Outdoor Site-Specific Performance at Central Market, Dance Seminar at RH Hotel, Fun Dance + Children’s Dance Night at Sibu Esplanade
Day 3 – Dance Workshop at RH Hotel, Folk/Line Dance Night at Sibu Esplanade
Day 4 – Outdoor Performance at Central Market, International Dance Concert I at RH Hotel Ballroom
Day 5 – Outdoor Performance at Central Market, International Dance Concert II at RH Hotel Ballroom
Day 6 – Departure

EXCURSIONS INFORMATION
Optional excursions include Bintangor & Sarikei countryside tours, Iban Long House visit, and Rejang River Cruise.
