“Harmonies of the Lake: Ohrid’s 2025 Winter Festival of Music, Dance and Light”
From February 20–23, Ohrid, N. Macedonia, was transformed into a hub of cultural celebration with the Ohrid Winter Fest. This vibrant festival brought together talented performers, including the Kavallouri Cultural Association Club from Corfu, Greece, who showcased the beauty and diversity of their traditional music and dance on the prestigious stage of Ohrid’s Cultural Center.
The highlight of the event was the spectacular festival day on February 22, where the group took part in a grand parade through the charming streets of Ohrid before captivating the audience with their dynamic performances. The festival ended on a high note with a special awards ceremony, where participants were honored with certificates and commemorative gifts, recognizing their artistry and contribution to the festival’s unforgettable atmosphere.
In addition to their performances, the participants had the opportunity to explore Ohrid’s iconic attractions. They enjoyed a serene cruise on the stunning Ohrid Lake on a beautifully sunny day, taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and historic landmarks. The group also visited the serene St. Naum Monastery, where they immersed themselves in its spiritual ambiance and enjoyed a traditional Macedonian dinner.
The Kavallouri Cultural Association Club shared their rich Greek heritage with locals and fellow participants at lakeside traditional restaurants, where lively music, dance, and authentic cuisine created a warm and festive atmosphere.
